Tar and Gravel / Chip Seal / Tar and Chip
Uniform Paving has economical solutions for customers that have long driveways that may be too expensive for asphalt paving. Tar and gravel can be applied to a black top surface or to a prepared base. Coatings of hot liquid asphalt followed by layers of gravel then rolled to finish. Tar & gravel (Chip Seal) has curb appeal, is strong and has a very clean, natural country look. We can use a variety of colored rocks such as granite, white and pink rock, slate and brown and beige river rock for a very rustic look. Because of its light colored stone surface tar and gravel ( tar and chip) does not absorb heat like black top does and stays much cooler.

The rough surface of tar and gravel ( tar and chip) gives extraction traction even in wet weather and is an excellent choice for steep slopes. Using larger rocks or chips creates a stronger surface for heavier traffic. Making this a good choice for your farm or commercial road.

Tar and gravel was the original pavement used on all roads, parking lots and driveways. Tar and gravel, (tar and chip) is virtually maintenance free as there is no need for seal coating. The life span of tar and gravel ( chip seal ) depends on the amount of layers installed. Tar and gravel is just as durable and dependable as black top.
